Chapter 21
But he looked down, saw his clenched fists under the table, and thought that maybe there was still a chance.
Eleanor was free–spirited and willful.
She had just been away for five years, living wildly.
But now that she was back, how could their past be so easily erased?
He still had a chance.
Julian took a call and left early.
Eleanor breathed a sigh of relief without realizing it.
“Jason.”
Hearing Eleanor’s serious tone, Jason was already bracing himself for a lecture, but when he turned his head, a cherry tomato was stuffed into his mouth.
He heard Eleanor say, “Jason, I love you.”
The cherry tomato was mixed with salad dressing, not sour at all, and a sweet taste filled his mouth.
His heart felt the same way.
Eleanor looked at Jason’s goofy smile and wanted to carve “I don’t know him” on her face.
The film crew was very considerate, or perhaps, Julian was just very concerned about her.
They gave Eleanor another two days off before the crew sent over the time and location.
Eleanor packed her luggage, and before she left, Jason lifted her chin.
He gave her a gentle, lingering kiss, full of reluctance and restraint.
“Can
you come back every day? I’m scared to sleep here alone.”
The filming location was in a replica palace in a small, historic town where the internet signal wasn’t great.

And Jason had international conference calls, so he couldn’t go with her.
Eleanor stroked Jason’s hair comfortingly and said, “Clingy boys aren’t good boys. I’ll call you when filming is over.”
“Okay.”
Jason reluctantly saw her off to the car.
The journey wasn’t exactly far, but it wasn’t close either.
It was a three or four–hour round trip from the small town to the city.
The script was being filmed in chronological order. It told the story of a prosperous empire’s gradual decline. The translation for The Dawn is Coming was also The Last Dynasty.
Julian watched Eleanor with satisfaction.
His Eleanor had finally found a career that she was suited for and loved.
Watching the dailies from the first scene, his gaze grew intense, as if he could already see what an amazing masterpiece the finished film would be.
Olivia’s reputation was practically a household name in the States.
That was also why several of the company’s famous directors had strongly recommended scheduling her.
At the time, he didn’t know that Olivia was her.
But what about her? How could she not know this was a Blackwood Group company and project?
But she had agreed.
Julian’s heart began to race again.
The crew had originally planned to shoot only the first scene on the first day to let everyone
adapt, but because the results were outstanding, they decided to add another scene.
Both were full of emotion.
Eleanor had a great time filming.
She looked at the time; it was already eight in the evening.
She didn’t feel tired at all.
“Okay, great work everyone. The director has booked a villa party for you all. Go have fun and relax.”
After a “cut!” was called, the assistant director started clearing the set.
Eleanor had just put the lens cap on and pulled out her phone to check the time when the assistant director walked over to her. “Mr. Jennings, you’ve worked hard. Have some water.”
As he spoke, he pushed a bottle of the luxurious yet understated Beverly Hills 90120 into her hand.
She turned around and saw Julian.
She thanked him, left the water bottle where Julian could see it, and walked toward the villa.
The phone signal was weak, so her WhatsApp messages spun for a long time before finally loading.
