Linda’s mocking and harsh voice brought me back to my senses. I slowly looked up at her.

She was wearing a well–tailored formal outfit today, but deliberately exposing her impressive curves at the chest. Her carefully made–up face showed smugness and provocation, her thin eyebrows slightly furrowed, unable to hide the jealousy in her eyes.

I had seen her several times before.

Clearly just a butler’s daughter, yet she always put on the airs of a wealthy young lady, pretentiously annoying.

Seeing I didn’t respond, Linda thought my hearing problem had acted up, so she simply kicked the clothes on the floor aside, her mouth continuously spewing vicious curses.

“Really shameless, a cripple who only knows how to seduce men.”

“Used to pretend to be pure, now look what you’re wearing?”

Her gaze swept over the haute couture clothes that had just been taken off on the floor, and she lifted her foot to stomp on them viciously.

She thought I was still that mute who could be humiliated by anyone and would swallow her anger.

She didn’t know that now, I was no longer that fool who would endure anything for Ferris.

I put on a coat, got up from the bed, and slowly walked toward her.

Seeing me approach, Linda looked at me mockingly and said with a cold laugh:

“Tsk–so you can hear after all? I thought your ears were completely useless.”

As soon as she finished speaking, I raised my hand and delivered a loud slap across her face.

Linda was instantly stunned, her cheek burning with pain.

“You dare hit me?”

I shook my somewhat numb palm, expressionless: “Yes, I hit you. What can you do about it?”

Linda was furious and raised her hand to strike back. I was quick to react, grabbed her wrist, and delivered another hard slap with my other hand.

She was completely stunned, staggered back two steps, and was actually knocked to the ground.

Her high heels made her slip, and she struggled to stand up with her hands on the floor, her eyes red.

“You… you get out! You’re not welcome here!”

I smiled softly, a smile that made her heart race with fear.

“A servant dares to brazenly drive me away?” I said coldly, “Really think you’re the Luna?”

Linda was so angry her lips trembled: “Even if I’m a servant, I can still drive you out! You haven’t forgotten how you were thrown out on Christmas Eve that year, have you?!”

Of course I remembered.

The first year after marriage, on Christmas Eve, because of Linda’s few tears, I was driven out of the manor.

That night, with heavy snow blocking the roads, I stood outside alone, nearly frozen to death.

The butler had served the Ferris family for decades, and as his daughter, she had been pampered by their family

since childhood.

And I, a woman unloved by Ferris, sent for a political marriage–in their eyes, I was worthless.

“You don’t need to go crying to them anymore,” I said calmly “I’m leaving now.”

After saying this, I went back to change into clean clothes without looking at her again.

When I walked out of the room, my back was straight and my steps firm, without a trace of hesitation.

I heard her make a low sound of surprise behind me, but I didn’t turn back.
