Twin Cupids at Work: Daddy, Come Home! novel Chapter 100

Her strength didn’t matter at all when it came to a man as strong as Julian. He just tightened his hold, pulling Madeline closer until she was pressed right up against him. Madeline clenched her jaw, both hands flat on his chest, pushing back.

“Julian, are you out of your mind? Hugging your ex-wife like this, in front of everyone? What if your fiancée hears about it and throws a fit when you get home?”

She glared at him, her eyes icy and sharp.

Julian’s lips curled up just a little, but there was no real smile in his eyes. Those dark eyes were unreadable. “You really don’t want me coming back to your place. What are you afraid of? That I’ll ruin your night with your boyfriend?”

His voice was so cold it could freeze the air between them.

“What boyfriend? What are you even talking about?” Madeline just stared at him, totally confused by his wild accusations.

Julian let out a bitter laugh. “Still pretending? Fine.” He pulled her into the elevator, not letting go, and hit the button for her floor.

“Let me go. Julian, quit dragging me around…”

“Take a look for yourself.” He yanked her forward as soon as they stepped out.

Madeline, flustered, tried to steady herself, but then she saw it—a huge bouquet of scarlet roses sitting right in front of her door. The color was so bright, it almost hurt her eyes.

She blinked, thrown off. What was this supposed to be?

She walked over, picked up the card, and stared at the wild handwriting. Oliver is with me.

Madeline’s eyes flicked to the bottom of the card.
