Twin Cupids at Work: Daddy, Come Home! novel Chapter 115

The lights in the room were dim, wrapping everything in a hazy, golden glow. He sat in the corner of the sofa like he owned the place, posture relaxed but every bit as commanding as a king. One long arm draped over the armrest, his face calm and unreadable. Those eyes, though—dark, intense, and cold as a winter lake.

No one wanted to get too close. You could practically feel the chill rolling off him.

“Who told her to come here?” His voice cut through the room, low and icy.

Silence. Everyone glanced at each other, but no one dared to answer. The tension was suffocating.

Finally, after what felt like forever, Brady piped up, not even trying to hide his relief at having someone else to blame. “It was Josh. He was the one who called her, not me.”

Josh’s brow twitched. He looked like he was about to leap over the table and deck Brady. “You little—”

Madeline interrupted, her tone steady. “I asked him for the address. I came here because I wanted to.”

Julian’s eyes narrowed just slightly. “You’re here for me?”

She nodded, her voice tight with anger. “Yeah. I need to talk to you.”

Something about that seemed to amuse Julian. He crooked two fingers at her, inviting her over. “Then come here.”

Madeline stood her ground.

Julian’s lips curled in a mocking smile. “Didn’t you want to talk to me? Or are we doing this from across the room?”

“I want to talk to you alone.”

The place was too loud, the lighting too dim, and there were two beautiful girls practically glued to Julian’s side. Definitely not the right setting for any kind of real conversation.
