Twin Cupids at Work: Daddy, Come Home! novel Chapter 66

“Maybe she really does want her kid back, but you’ve raised him for five years. That’s not something you can just undo because someone wants it. Julian, no matter what happens, don’t make yourself sick over this.”

Julian stared off into the distance, his eyes landing on the little figure across the room. His expression was hard to read.

Just then, the piano tutor walked up to him. “Mr. Grayson, Noah has been practicing really well lately. You should come listen.”

Julian checked his watch. He had time, so he stood up and walked over.

Oliver was perched on the piano bench, desperately trying to think of a way to escape.

Of course, that’s when Julian came over and sat down on the sofa nearby, settling in like he was ready for a concert.

Oliver froze, his big eyes blinking fast. “Daddy, what are you doing?”

“I’m here to listen to you play.”

The piano tutor smiled at Oliver. “Didn’t you say you wanted your daddy to hear you play? He’s here now. Why don’t you play that piece we practiced last time, just like before?”

Oliver’s face went from confused to completely shocked. He had to play in front of Julian?

Why hadn’t his brother warned him that living here meant you needed all these skills?

The tutor kept praising him, calling him a natural talent and a genius.

Julian looked at Oliver and smiled a little. “Go ahead. Let’s hear it.”

It’s over! He had no idea how to play. He was about to be found out.

Oliver was so anxious he could barely sit still.

The tutor adjusted the sheet music in front of him. “Whenever you’re ready, Noah.”

The tutor stood to the side, looking excited for the music to start.

Julian watched Oliver, a hint of expectation in his eyes.

Oliver stared at the keys. Hacking, horseback riding, shooting, even fighting—he’d learned it all. Piano, though? Never touched it in his life.
