If Emmett wanted to play games, she would happily oblige.
"Let's go inside, shall we?" Leah suggested as her head rested comfortably against his shoulder.
Emmett gave her a curt mumble of agreement, and they disappeared into the room, leaving Clara standing outside. She watched helplessly as the door closed behind them.
Soon, Leah's giggles echoed from the room. "Why don't you go take a shower all by yourself? I'm shy!"
Shower?
Clara's heart ached at the sound of the word. They had progressed so fast. A shower meant that something else was about to happen.
She clenched her fists so hard that her nails dug into her flesh again. It hurt so much that it was hard to breathe.
"Please... I don't want to... Can't you carry me in?"
Unable to bear it any longer, Clara turned on her heel and fled down the hallway. She couldn't stand being there any longer, even if she would be punished for it later.
Back in the room, Emmett heard Clara's retreating footsteps. He looked at Leah and frowned. "She's gone. You can go now."
