If this woman weren't Finnian's mother, she would've marched right over and slapped him across the face.

"Mother, what are you saying?" Finnian pulled Amara behind him, his tall, sturdy frame acting as a solid barrier. "Would you care to repeat that?"

His voice was low, each word dripping with a chilling menace, his eyes cast down, a terrifying aura radiating from him. When Finnian stared someone down like that, it was downright scary.

Emma hadn't expected Finnian to side with Amara so decisively, especially in front of all the household staff. It was embarrassing and infuriating.

"Finn, what are you saying? Are you threatening me?" she snapped, clutching her purse strap with white knuckles.

"I'm the one who carried you for nine months and gave birth to you. How can you take the side of an outsider!"

"I'm well aware of all that," Finnian stepped forward, his tone icy cold.

"If you weren't my biological mother, you wouldn't be standing here after saying those words."

It was a simple statement, delivered without rage or vulgarity, but it left Emma wide-eyed and speechless, even trembling a little.

The staff instinctively took a step back, too. The young master was usually just aloof, not really a threat, but his presence now was genuinely terrifying. No one dared meet his gaze.

Emma gaped at him, momentarily lost for words.

Amara hadn’t expected things to escalate like this. She disliked Emma, of course, but witnessing the strain on Finnian's relationship with his mother left her at a loss. She gently tugged on Finnian’s sleeve. "Let it go. Talk to her later and calm her down. I should go."

"Alright, I'll walk you out."

Finnian didn't want Amara to stick around. Who knew what Emma would do next? He slung an arm over Amara's shoulder and guided her out.

Amara glanced at Finnian's arm around her, feeling awkward, but with Finnian's cold demeanor, she said nothing and let him lead her out of the kitchen.
