Under the Veil I Rule (Amara) novel Chapter 427

Unlike other actresses of her caliber, Liliana didn’t even need to audition. She could simply pick a project, and her agent would make the call.

But despite her glamorous public life, Liliana had been consumed by anxiety lately, all of it centered on Finnian.

She had been thrilled when Emma had gone to her parents to arrange the engagement in Finnian’s absence. She was confident that with her parents’ influence, Finnian would eventually agree to marry her.

But after that day, there had been no word from Emma. Finnian hadn't contacted her about it, either. The whole affair seemed to have fizzled out, leaving her in a painful state of limbo. She didn't even know if she was officially his fiancée or not.

That afternoon, just after Liliana had settled on her next project, Emma suddenly showed up at her door.

Emma took her hand and led her to the sofa. “Liliana,” she said warmly, “I know Finn hasn't spoken to you about the engagement these past few days. Don’t you worry. He just needs a little time to come around. I will handle it.”

According to Emma, the engagement was a done deal. Liliana *was* Finnian’s fiancée.

All that was left was for Emma to persuade Finnian to accept it.

Liliana felt a mix of emotions. On one hand, she had her doubts about Emma’s reliability. On the other, Emma was from a prestigious family, a perfect social match for Andrew Everly.

As a woman who had held her own in the Everly family and as Finnian's own mother, she surely wielded significant influence over him. Perhaps she should trust her.

She quickly found the perfect place: a spacious four-bedroom, two-living-room apartment on a single floor.

She would take the master bedroom, one of the spare rooms would be a nursery, another for a nanny, and the last one would be a guest room for when Elysia or Keith came to visit.

Better yet, the apartment was fully furnished. The previous owner had been transferred abroad less than a month after finishing the renovations. He had planned to return in a few years and left the apartment empty, but he had grown accustomed to life overseas and had been promoted within his company's international branch. A return to the country was unlikely anytime soon, so he had decided to sell.

The property was in a great location, with a smart layout and plenty of natural light. And since it had barely been lived in, it was immaculate.

Amara was completely satisfied. She had a lawyer review the contract, and finding no issues, she signed the papers without hesitation.
