Under the Veil I Rule (Amara) novel Chapter 449

Dorian’s expression was thunderous, but Elysia’s was just as stormy. “I’ll stand with whoever I want,” she snapped. “It’s none of your business.”

She was already losing her patience with Dorian, and his habit of acting like an attack dog every time he saw Lucian was the last straw.

Seeing her defend another man right in front of him, Dorian’s anger boiled over.

The veins in his forearms bulged as he glared at Lucian, who had already clenched his fists, looking ready for a fight.

Elysia couldn’t take it anymore. She grabbed Dorian’s wrist and dragged him out of the room.

“Lucian and Ama are good friends. Of course I was going to tell him something happened to her. Why are you acting crazy again?”

Her impatient tone only fueled the jealousy and resentment festering inside Dorian.

“If he’s here to see Amara, why was he standing so close to you?” he snarled. “And tell me the truth—did anything happen between you two that night?”

Nothing physical had happened between her and Lucian. She had told Dorian this countless times, but he refused to believe her, asking again and again until she was sick of it.

“I already told you, nothing happened. If you don’t believe me, that’s your problem. And stop making a scene here. You should go check on your friend.”

Finnian had just found out Amara was pregnant, and according to her, his reaction had been extreme. He couldn’t be in a good state right now.

Dorian, however, was in the dark. “What’s wrong with Finn?” he asked, frowning. He had a biological brother, but their relationship was strained. Elysia was obviously referring to Finnian.

Elysia let out a cold laugh. “It’s too complicated to explain. If you want to know, go ask him yourself. I’m leaving.”

With that, she turned and went back into the room.

Finnian, dressed in a black suit but barefoot, looked utterly defeated.

He padded across the floor to the small bar in the corner of the living room, poured a glass of whiskey, and downed it in one go. “Amara’s pregnant,” he said.

“…”

It took Dorian a few seconds to process the words.

His mouth opened, a dozen questions vying for position, but he didn’t know which one to ask first.

Finally, he managed, “How is she pregnant? Is it yours?”
