Under the Veil I Rule (Amara) novel Chapter 501

Just then, a staff member spoke cautiously from the doorway. “Mr. Finnian Everly is back.”

Knowing the fury Mr. Kevin Everly had just unleashed over Finnian, the staff member was treading lightly.

Sure enough, Mr. Kevin Everly’s face darkened. As Finnian walked into the room, he slammed his hand on the table. “You little brat, you have the nerve to come back!”

Finnian knew his grandfather would be angry. He walked over and lowered his head. “Grandfather, it’s already settled. It’s not going to change. If you’re angry, just hit me.”

“Get out! Get out of my sight! I can’t be bothered to hit you! I don’t want to see you, so get out!” Mr. Kevin Everly yelled, waving the broken piece of his cane.

Finnian stood his ground. Amara glanced at him and said in a low voice, “You should go for now. Grandfather is still furious. Come back when he’s calmed down.”

Finnian looked at her, then turned and walked out in silence.

Amara stayed to comfort Mr. Kevin Everly for a while longer. Once he had settled down, she left his room.

She found Finnian still standing downstairs, his eyes fixed on her as if he had been waiting.

After a moment’s thought, she approached him. “Grandfather is angry right now and doesn’t want to see you. Come back in a couple of days when he’s cooled off.”

“When you do, say a few nice things and try to soothe him. Even though he’s furious, you’re his favorite. He cares about you so much, he’ll definitely forgive you.”

Mr. Kevin Everly was very important to Amara, and she didn’t want to see him hurt, which was why she was saying all this to Finnian.

Finnian understood. He gave her a deep look.

“I know. Thank you for taking care of Grandfather these past few days,” he said.

Amara nodded. “I know. I’ll move on from him, slowly.”

She was confident she could. After all, she had her child now. Once the baby was born, her emotional focus would shift, and she wouldn't be thinking about Finnian all the time.

“How are things with the house?” Keith asked, noticing that Amara didn’t seem too upset.

“I’ve hired a construction crew. We’re buying materials now, and they should be able to start next week.”

Amara had hired a large crew of several dozen people. Even though her house was big, the renovations should be done within two months.

Keith was relieved to hear it. They chatted for a few more minutes before ending the call.
