Under the Veil I Rule (Amara) novel Chapter 505

“What do you want?” Amelia snapped.

Amara stared at her. “Let me tell you, the matter of you hiring someone to run me over isn’t over yet. Don’t you forget that.”

Amelia’s head shot up, her gaze turning vicious.

“It already happened. What can you do to me? Are you angry? It seems there’s nothing you can do about it.”

Amara released her arm and smiled calmly. “You’re right. There’s really nothing I can do to you.”

Amelia’s dark expression finally lifted, a triumphant smirk forming on her lips. But before the smile could fully blossom, Amara continued, “But there’s plenty Finnian can do to you.”

“…”

Amelia’s lips pressed into a thin line.

“Don’t forget, Finnian was in that car with me. You weren’t just trying to kill me; you were trying to kill him too.”

“You didn’t actually think Finnian was some pushover you could harm without consequence, did you? That he wouldn’t seek revenge after you nearly got him killed? Or perhaps you think your family is more powerful than his, and his revenge will fail?”

Amelia’s eyes widened, and she began to tremble.

If she had known Finnian was in that car, she never would have let her people proceed. She wouldn’t have dared to harm him, not even if someone gave her a hundred times the courage.

But the order had been passed down through layers of people, and somewhere along the line, a mistake had been made, leading to this disaster.

After the incident, both her husband’s family and her own had found out that she was responsible for endangering Finnian. They had been furious.

Finnian was in his office, a stack of documents in front of him. He could absorb a page at a glance, and the pile was steadily shrinking.

Suddenly, a hurried knock sounded at the door. Finnian was astute enough to recognize who it was just from the sound.

He said, “Come in,” and sure enough, Hogan Everly rushed into the room.

“Finnian!” Hogan planted his hands on the desk, demanding anxiously, “Are you really going to marry Liliana?”

Finnian continued reading, not even looking up. “Yes. You’re back?”

Hogan also worked for the Everly Group and had been on a business trip abroad. He had just landed an hour ago and was immediately hit with the news of Finnian's impending marriage to Liliana. He refused to believe it.

Finnian was a committed bachelor. The only person who could possibly get him to the altar was Amara, if she ever relented. How could Liliana possibly manage it?
