Under the Veil I Rule (Amara) novel Chapter 506

But a trip to the family estate confirmed it; his grandfather told him Finnian was, in fact, marrying Liliana. He had rushed straight here to confront him.

“Finnian, have you really made up your mind to marry Liliana?”

Hogan still found it hard to believe, or rather, hard to accept, so he asked again.

“What about Amara? Aren’t you going to pursue her anymore?” he pressed.

Not long ago, Finnian had told him that because Liliana had once saved his life, he had decided to stay by her side.

Hogan had come to terms with the idea that Finnian was giving up the woman he loved to be with Liliana.

But just being with her informally was one thing; getting married was another. The difference was immense, and he couldn't accept it.

At the mention of Amara, a sharp pain pierced Finnian’s heart, but it manifested as a chilling darkness in his eyes, a look that would frighten anyone.

He stood up and pointed toward the door. “Get out,” he said, his voice low and menacing.

Hogan froze.

Finnian was strict with his younger siblings, but he was never this volatile. He was kicking him out without any real provocation. It was clear just how much weight the name “Amara” held for him; simply hearing it was enough to wound him.

Hogan sighed. Knowing Finnian was in a bad state, he didn't want to argue—and frankly, he didn't dare to. He left the office.

As he walked out, lost in thought, he passed the secretarial area. A thought struck him, and he pushed open the door, walking over to Will Zade’s desk. “Any news on that man’s suicide?”

Hogan was referring to the drunk driver who had hit him, nearly putting him in a coma.

The man’s suicide was important, but Hogan’s main concern right now was Finnian. He left the company building quickly and, after some thought, decided to go find Amara.

Amara had been swamped with the renovation work, especially in these initial stages where she had to coordinate everything to ensure a smooth process later on.

She was at the villa supervising the work, discussing something with the contractor, when she heard someone call out from outside. “Amara, are you in there?”

It was clearly Hogan’s voice. Amara was surprised. How had he found her here?

She excused herself from the contractor, took off her mask and gloves, and went outside. “What is it?”

She hadn’t kept the house purchase a secret from Mr. Kevin Everly, and the Everly family staff had overheard them discussing the renovations, so it wasn't exactly private.
