Under the Veil I Rule (Amara) novel Chapter 525

Lisa cautiously approached and handed her phone to Mr. Kevin Everly.

Mr. Kevin Everly quickly took it and scanned the screen. He was astonished to see that Amara was marrying Keith.

Finnian strode out of the villa and took out his phone again to call Amara. He had already called her over a dozen times, but she hadn't answered a single one. What was she doing right now?

That night, Amara returned to the estate, exhausted.

After leaving the venue, she had gone out for a meal with Keith and Elysia Moon.

Elysia was very happy to hear she had ultimately chosen to enter a sham marriage with Keith.

Amara just assumed Elysia was happy because she thought marrying an acquaintance was a safer bet. She had no idea Elysia knew about Keith's feelings for her and was thrilled they might actually get together.

“Ama, you're back? Where have you been?”

It was past eleven, but Mr. Kevin Everly was surprisingly still awake. Hearing her return, he came out of his bedroom and looked down at her from the top of the second-floor staircase.

Amara was surprised. Then she remembered the news that had nearly crashed Twitter that day, and her heart leaped into her throat. She asked tentatively, “Grandpa, I went to dinner with a friend. Did you see today's news?”

“I saw it, I saw it! You're getting married, right? To that young man you've been close with since childhood?”

“The boy is good-looking, and I hear his career is flourishing. Plus, he has no scandals in that whole messy scene. That's good. He's a fine choice.”

To Amara's surprise, Mr. Kevin Everly seemed quite pleased about her marriage. He hobbled down the stairs with his cane, took her hand when he reached her, and looked genuinely happy.

Amara asked, “Grandpa, you're not angry? I already had someone, yet I still let you arrange blind dates for me. Won't this put you in an awkward position with your friends?”

Amara did feel guilty. Regarding Morgan, she knew she hadn't handled it well.
