Under the Veil I Rule (Amara) novel Chapter 560

He and Amara had so few shared memories, and their wedding ceremony was one of them. Was he going to lose that, too? From now on, Vera Lodge would no longer be a special place for them...

No, it would always be special to him. But for Amara, Vera Lodge would become a beautiful memory she shared with Keith, a memory that had nothing to do with him.

He clenched his fists, his eyes filled with a mixture of anger and frustration.

"It's a nice hotel, so we chose it," Amara said.

She had originally wanted to book the Star Hotel, but when they went to scout it, they discovered Finnian and Liliana had booked it as well. Both she and Keith felt uncomfortable with that, so they decided to look elsewhere. Through a series of coincidences, they ended up choosing Vera Lodge.

"But that's the hotel where we got married," Finnian repeated, his displeasure obvious.

Amara looked at him, confused.

"So what if it's where we got married? Does that mean no one can ever use it again?"

Finnian hadn't bought out the entire hotel, so what kind of possessive logic was that?

"Ama is right. What does it matter if you two got married there? You can't forbid her from ever going to that hotel again. You're being unreasonable," Mr. Kevin Everly chimed in.

Seeing Finnian unhappy made him happy.

Even though Finnian was his favorite grandson, the thought of his impending marriage to Liliana still annoyed him, so he enjoyed finding ways to needle him.

But he'd come to terms with it over the past couple of days. It was probably for the best that Ama wasn't with his grandson. Finnian's messy involvement with Liliana was unfair to Ama. From now on, he could just live his life with that actress.

Finnian fell silent, but his mood was clearly soured. After dinner, as they headed upstairs, he stopped her on the staircase.
