Waylon wanted to see the man’s face clearly, but the brim of the hat was pulled too low; he couldn’t make out a single feature.

“I’m Waylon—an investor who returned from overseas. If it’s money you want, name a figure; the Stone family can and will pay without stinginess. If you’re here for something else, at least tell me plainly so I know what you want. There’s nothing in this world that can’t be negotiated, is there?”

After years in business, Waylon was steadier and calmer than Flynn.

The man snorted a few cold laughs when he heard Waylon.

Waylon recognized the tell; the man was using a voice–changer.

He was cautious enough not even to risk exposing his real voice.

His heart sank a little.

Seeing Waylon curl over in pain, the man spoke without courtesy.

Flynn was frantic when he saw this.

Waylon ground his back teeth together.

Flynn didn’t know who these men were or how powerful, he only wanted to save Waylon.

What to do? Flynn quietly pulled out his phone to call Baron, but a black–clad man spotted the move and kicked his phone away.

Flynn was then beaten mercilessly.

“Flynn!”

Waylon felt unbearable pain.
