She tossed Baron’s phone into a bowl of water, then turned to look at Natalie. The girl’s face was pale, her forehead damp with cold sweat; she seemed trapped in a nightmare she couldn’t escape. Rachel’s lips curled into a cruel smirk. She stepped forward and slapped Natalie hard across the face–again and again.

Natalie’s skin was soft; Rachel’s strikes were harsh. Within moments, red handprints bloomed across Natalie’s cheeks.

Seeing that, Rachel finally looked satisfied.

“Stupid little tramp,” she sneered. “Daring to flirt with Jensen? You think you’re worthy of him? If it weren’t for your usefulness, I would’ve strangled you the moment you were born. Letting live all these years has already been my mercy. Once Waylon agrees to hand over Moses, your purpose will be served. And when that happens, I’ll make sure you die quietly–let’s see how

Her eyes gleamed with venom.

She knew the drug she used; she knew exactly how strong it was. There was no way Baron should’ve been fine.

He gave a chilling smirk. “Looks like your research on me wasn’t very thorough. You didn’t know I’ve got close ties with the Witch Doctor, did you? That drug you used–its stench is enough to give you away even to an idiot. And you really thought you could knock me out without anyone noticing? Where did you get that confidence?”

The moment he finished, the men who’d seemed passed out earlier–along with Shauna–filed into the room, surrounding it completely.

“Mr. Baron,” one of them reported, “I checked. She’s alone–no backup.”

When Shauna appeared, Rachel’s eyes widened in shock.

She knew who Shauna was.

In fact, she could recognize her on sight–because he had told her about this woman. He’d even given her photos and information.

If she remembered correctly, Shauna was the right–hand woman of the Godfather of Murica. The Godfather.
