Vincent froze the moment he saw her there. His whole body tensed up, and his first instinct was to hide.

It felt like a cheating husband suddenly caught by his wife.

A wave of guilt crashed over him. Even if he hadn’t technically done anything wrong, he still felt like he’d betrayed her.

Without thinking, he stepped two paces away from Gianna.

“What are you doing here?” Maxwell frowned. “Why’d you come?”

Amelia crossed her arms. “Why? Is this cruise your private property now? Only you get to be here?”

In response, he said confidently, “Yeah, this cruise belonged to the family. I can go wherever I

want.”

He said it with such smug pride that Amelia almost laughed.

Amelia let out a cold laugh. “This ship belongs to the family, not you. Got it?”

“If you like it, Amelia,” Jeremy said in his low, unbothered tone, “I’ll just buy the whole thing. Then all these clowns can take their drama somewhere else.”

Jeremy slipped one hand casually into the pocket of his dark slacks, his whole posture relaxed and effortless.

He looked lazy on the surface, yet every small movement carried a natural air of command- like someone born to be obeyed.

The finely tailored suit on him, along with the faint glimmer of a limited–edition watch on his wrist, spoke louder than words. He didn’t need to say anything to prove his wealth and power; it was obvious to everyone in the room.

“You two!” Maxwell started, but his voice caught.

He wanted to argue, but no words came.

Amelia was part of the family–the most beloved granddaughter of their grandfather. The cruise had been his purchase before he passed away.

This brat held far more claim to it than anyone else.

And as for Jeremy? Maxwell had no right to challenge him.

Sure, they were both from rich families, but the Currans were on a whole different level—they were the wealthiest. Jeremy wasn’t some spoiled heir; he was the head of the Curran empire.

How could Maxwell possibly compete with that? How could he rebuke him?

Damn it! I’m so mad! I want to explode!

Emery, trying to ease the tension, stepped in with a pleasant smile. “Now, now, Amelia, don’t say that. The Nygards and the Desters are family friends. We’re just here chatting, that’s all.”

With Jeremy standing here, Emery couldn’t say anything too harsh.
