Chapter 210 The Day of the Public Apology
Amelia only meant it as a throwaway question, nothing serious.

But after hearing Patience’s dramatic answer, Amelia suddenly felt the whole conversation veer off in a strange direction.
Patience caught the doubtful look on Amelia’s face and realized she might just brush it off as a joke. She was about to step in and smooth things over.
After all, she couldn’t just sit back and watch. Jeremy was the company’s biggest investor; if he wanted to win Amelia over, someone had to help him out a little.
But before she could say anything, she saw Amelia’s attention shift–she’d just gotten an important message and went quiet.
It was from Tyler.
“Gianna didn’t contact anyone suspicious,” he wrote, “but she did ask Regina for some kind of medicine.”
“What kind of medicine?” Amelia typed back, curious.
“One that can instantly stop pain and speed up healing.”
That reply made Amelia pause.
She knew Gianna–there was no way that pampered, delicate girl would willingly apologize in public.
The only reason she had finally agreed was because the Nygards forced her hand.
With her petty, vindictive streak, she’d probably been stewing in resentment ever since.
That was exactly why Amelia had told Tyler to keep an eye on her–to see what kind of tricks Gianna might be plotting.
At the same time, she wanted to trace any connection between Gianna and Regina.
But all Gianna did was ask for a bottle of medicine?
Sure, it was a little odd and worth thinking about, but at least it was something.
It wasn’t something you could just pick up at a pharmacy. It was a rare, high–grade formula, the kind that clearly came from the Alchemist Guild.

Why is Regina always able to get her hands on such powerful medicine or even strange, dangerous poisons so easily!
Amelia couldn’t help wondering if Gianna herself had some kind of secret link to the Guild.
“What’s wrong, Amelia?” Patience asked, noticing how serious she looked.
“Nothing.” Amelia said. ‘I’m just wondering if Gianna’s planning anything for the press conference.”
“Wouldn’t surprise me,” Patience muttered. “That woman’s got a scheming streak a mile wide. Give her an inch, she’ll tear your arm off.”
She spoke from experience–after all, she had managed Gianna before. She could get things done, sure, but she was always up to something shady.
People like that didn’t make friends; they calculated every relationship for their own gain.

Still, she made up her mind that this was just temporary. Once the scandal blows over, I’ll reclaim my position and make everyone pay.
Once I join the company headquarters, I’ll prove myself indispensable and find a way to force Amelia to hand over that 30% stake.
