It was obvious by now that plenty of people had already picked up on it–the Nygard brothers were notoriously doting when it came to Gianna.
But honestly, who could blame them for being suspicious? When the brothers were bold enough to play favorites and push aside their own biological sister just to pamper an adopted
it’s no wonder people talked. The snide remarks practically wrote themselves.
Marcelo scoffed at himself inwardly, then turned his gaze toward Raymond, who was seated at the head of the table.
Raymond looked just as grim as expected, clearly worn down by the chaos of the past few weeks.
The last thing Marcelo wanted was to get on his nerves right now, especially when things were already this tense. Pushing his luck would only blow back on him.
So, forcing himself to keep it together, Marcelo faced the room and said, “Ladies and gentlemen, I know everyone’s frustrated with how often we’ve been calling shareholder meetings lately and with what’s been going on at Nygard Entertainment. As the CEO of Nygard Entertainment, I’ll take full responsibility for the losses and negative press we’ve brought to the parent company. “That’s right! You’re clearly not cut out to lead the company. You’ve achieved nothing, and all you’ve done is hold us back while causing one disaster after another. Honestly, even your sister Amelia would be a better fit!” another shareholder chimed in sharply.
As that last line dropped, the tension in the room escalated instantly, like the whole place was just waiting for a single spark to explode.
Marcelo’s face darkened at the mention of Amelia. Being publicly compared to his own younger sister, especially like that, hit him hard.
