Chapter 272 Romantics

Ursula had seen enough of life’s dramas, and after her recent binge of over–the–top streaming shows, her mind immediately went to the worst–case scenario. “Don’t tell me they’re not only involved again but have produced a secret love child?” she asked, her voice tight with suspicion.

The more she thought about it, the more plausible it seemed. What would that mean for her grandsons? For Amelia?

Was this heading toward a classic plot of the mistress trying to usurp the wife and seize the Nygard legacy?

Good grief!

Amelia stayed silent for a beat.

Wow. Grandma is scarily perceptive.

She just casually guessed almost the entire truth.

Of course, she couldn’t reveal anything now. There were still too many unanswered questions.

“Woah, Grandma, don’t let your imagination run wild like that. I was just asking out of curiosity.”

Not to mention Marcelo and Maxwell, who were walking, talking definitions of players.

Then she might have almost believed her grandmother’s claim about the Nygard men being

romantics.

What a joke.

“Mmhmm. Let’s hope that’s true.”

“Amelia, if you’ve discovered something, you have to tell me. I don’t want this family torn apart by chaos.”

Lately, Ursula had felt a sense of foreboding–a nagging feeling that something was amiss.

Her granddaughter’s pointed questions only confirmed there were things she wasn’t being told.

“Don’t worry. Any ‘chaos‘ won’t touch you, and it certainly won’t affect the Nygard Group.”

How the rest of them chose to self–destruct was their business.

Her only concerns were insulating the company and ensuring Grandma and Aunt Thea remained safe and untouched.
