Chapter 287 The Right Move
“Ha, no one knows better than us how many pointless messes we’ve cleaned up before.”
Marcelo couldn’t believe how dumb Maxwell could be sometimes.
He’d nearly run Nygard Entertainment into the ground, and if Raymond hadn’t stepped in for his own son’s sake, that entire branch would’ve been shut down.
This time, though, Marcelo had finally learned his lesson. He wasn’t about to let Gianna drag him into her nonsense again—and he definitely wasn’t touching anything related to the entertainment division.
Otherwise, he’d just be digging his own grave.
“Don’t forget, Amelia’s company is getting stronger every day. Her reputation’s soaring, and she’s got Jeremy backing her,” Miguel pointed out.
That hit home.
Now Maxwell didn’t dare say another word.
The Currans weren’t people he could mess with–especially Jeremy.
He’d always believed Amelia’s success in showbiz was because Jeremy was her powerful backer, not because she had any real ability.
No way was he going to admit he just wasn’t as capable.
Now all three brothers were silent, and even Emery didn’t speak up.
Gianna was starting to panic. She wanted to argue but couldn’t find the right excuse.
Then, right in the middle of that awkward silence, Raymond came home.
He knew exactly what was going on in the Nygard Group.
“We’re following the shareholders‘ and executives‘ decision,” he said firmly. “No one else is to interfere.”
With that, he went straight upstairs to his study.
His tone left no room for argument, and the room went completely quiet.
Emery didn’t say another word either, just followed Raymond upstairs.
He’d been away on business for more than two weeks and had just returned. She wasn’t in the mood for any more family drama.
All she wanted now was to spend time with Raymond, chat a little, and enjoy a cozy evening together.
People called her naive and sheltered, but she thought she knew exactly how to handle Raymond—and she figured no one else could do it quite like her.
Gianna watched everyone leave, stomped her foot in frustration, and clenched her teeth so hard it hurt. She had no choice but to swallow her anger.
She cursed her brothers for being useless and called Emery a brainless romantic fool.
Even Raymond wasn’t on her side this time.
Fine. She’d go complain to Regina instead.
Patience could see right through Amelia. The reason this sly girl hadn’t completely crushed Gianna yet was because she wanted to play the long game.
