Chapter 307: Learning From the Guys
The courtyard was bathed in the soft glow of the late afternoon sun, casting long shadows across the polished stone floor. Inside, the atmosphere was tense yet oddly charged with energy.
“Amelia and her sister really are something else, aren’t they? They seem so charming in that video,” someone remarked with a hint of skepticism.
A voice quickly cut in, firm and measured. “Don’t jump to conclusions just because a few gigolos are present. There’s nothing inappropriate going on—they’re simply sharing a drink and having a casual conversation.”
“Exactly,” another chimed in. “That video didn’t show anything untoward—not even a single moment of hand-holding. Someone’s definitely stirring the pot here.”
While a handful of malicious trolls continued to target Amelia and her team with spiteful comments, most of the online chatter was nothing more than harmless speculation. The majority of fans refused to accept the rumors at face value. In fact, Amelia’s most devoted supporters began to question the credibility of the accusations themselves.
They suspected it was the work of a rival, an orchestrated attempt to create drama and damage reputations. After all, the footage merely depicted Amelia and her colleagues drinking and occasionally chatting with the men—there was no physical contact, no scandalous behavior.
The following day, as Amelia and Patience exited their company’s sleek glass doors, they were immediately swarmed by an eager throng of reporters and flashing cameras.
“Ms. Gianna, can you clarify if you ordered gigolos that night along with your colleagues?” one journalist asked bluntly.
“Do you find this kind of behavior exciting? Is this how you typically spend your personal time?” another pressed.
“Ms. Amelia, there are rumors about your close relationship with Mr. Curran. Are you worried he might be shocked or upset by these allegations? Could this affect your relationship?” came a sharp inquiry.
Patience’s eyes flashed with anger, the urge to snap back almost overwhelming her, but Amelia gently grasped her arm, signaling calm. Taking a deep breath, Amelia faced the reporters with composed confidence.
“Jeremy and I are simply friends and business partners,” she stated evenly. “There’s no reason to involve him in this matter.”
Without missing a beat, she shifted the focus. “I’m not in a relationship. I’m single. Whether I choose to spend time with one man, ten men, or none at all—do I owe the public or the media an explanation for how I enjoy my life?”
Her words hung in the air, leaving the crowd momentarily speechless. No one had expected such a straightforward, unapologetic response.
Usually, in situations like this, people either deny everything while over-explaining or stay silent to appear untouchable. But Amelia broke the mold, turning the tables with her candid question, leaving the reporters without a comeback.
Her logic was undeniable. She was wealthy, influential, single, and undeniably beautiful. Men didn’t need to be hired; they naturally gravitated toward her. Why should a woman’s enjoyment of her life be anyone’s business?
