Chapter 328: Horseback Riding
Gianna felt the pressure building inside her, a storm of frustration threatening to burst forth if she didn’t find some outlet soon.
“Miguel, Vincent, next time we need to win at least one round,” she insisted, her voice firm yet carrying a hint of desperation.
The reality show was nearing its end—just under two days remained before the final curtain would fall.
They had completed all the promotional events, successfully attracting a sizable audience, and the show’s popularity was undeniable.
Yet, despite all this, Gianna couldn’t shake the nagging feeling that she hadn’t truly accomplished what she set out to do.
She pinned her hopes on the two men in their group, silently urging them to give their absolute best in the remaining time.
Vincent scoffed, a sly grin tugging at the corner of his mouth. “Easy for you to say. If you’re so amazing, why don’t you just do it yourself?”
Gianna’s heart sank a little. Vincent was right in a way—she talked a big game, but when it counted, she often fell short. No matter how many top-tier players they had, her shortcomings could drag the entire team down.
She should have trusted her own instincts more. Without even trying, she had the power to diminish the team’s overall talent and intelligence all on her own.
Truly remarkable, in the worst way.
“Vincent!” Gianna snapped sharply, annoyance flashing in her eyes.
Then, turning to Miguel, her gaze softened, glistening with unshed tears as she put on a look of wounded innocence.
Had he forgotten they were being filmed for a reality show? How could he be so blunt about her in front of the cameras?
If she really were as capable as Vincent implied, why would she need him at all?
Miguel stayed silent. He felt the urge to defend Gianna, but after everything, words failed him. Over the past two days, her actions had genuinely slowed them down.
Simple tasks that should have been straightforward became tangled and complicated because of her unpredictable behavior.
Sometimes, Miguel just couldn’t understand her. Why not quietly finish the job instead of creating all this drama and playing these exaggerated roles?
Perhaps it was a habit she’d picked up from years in the entertainment industry.
Why couldn’t she be more like Amelia—quiet, focused, and efficient?
Instead, Gianna felt the need to say grand things and make lofty promises to the locals.
In the end, nothing substantial got done, leaving people disappointed and casting judgmental glances their way.
No wonder Marcelo didn’t want to partner with her and left her stuck with Miguel.
He must have known she was difficult to handle. Even Marcelo couldn’t control her.
Not long after everyone had retreated to their rooms to rest, the host summoned them all to the yard.
Miguel and Vincent, who hadn’t even rested for more than a few minutes, exchanged tired groans.
If there was a next time, both vowed silently never to participate in such a frustrating reality show again.
Wouldn’t it be so much better just to relax at home?
