Chapter 346 Outsmarted
“If you don’t believe me, come inside and see for yourself. Stop making a scene out here.”
Raymond pulled her into the house. Gianna and Miguel happened to be there.
“Mom? What are you doing here?”
“Yeah, I thought you were playing cards with your friends?”
Gianna and Miguel were clearly surprised to see her.
“W-what are you guys doing here?”
“I’m here as their lawyer, helping with the property transfer,” Miguel said confidently.
He actually found it a little weird.
He’d been busy at the company when he suddenly got a call from Raymond asking him to come handle the transfer right away.
He had rushed over without asking too many questions, thinking it was just for Gianna.
“That’s right. Miguel and Dad were in a hurry. Honestly, we’re family. Whether the property gets transferred or not doesn’t really matter.”
Gianna put on her thoughtful, obedient daughter act, even though she was thrilled inside.
Mom predicted everything perfectly-Emery was starting to get suspicious, so we used that to get Dad to transfer the property to me.
Regina had wanted the house for a long time, but Raymond always used being busy as an excuse to put it off.
Now, she finally had a chance to get him to do it willingly!
“I always keep my word. You risked everything to save your mom, and I promised her I’d reward you.
“This house is just sitting empty anyway, so it’s perfect to transfer it to your name. Right, Emery?”
Hearing this, Emery finally realized she’d misunderstood. Her husband wasn’t keeping a mistress.
Something still felt a little off, but for now, that’s how it looked.
“Ahem, yes. Gianna did risk everything to save me. A property is the least we can give.
“Honey, you’re so thoughtful. I’d almost forgotten about this, but luckily you remembered, or Gianna would’ve felt wronged.”
Emery felt a bit awkward and didn’t want to bring up what had just happened in front of the kids.
Luckily, the argument had happened outside, so they hadn’t seen anything. Otherwise, it would’ve been embarrassing.

For now, the matter was over.
Back at the Nygard Residence, Emery deleted those messages right away.
“I knew it! Someone’s trying to turn us against each other. So bad!”
After this incident, Emery would never trust anonymous messages again, no matter how real they seemed.
“I think Regina has spies on our side, too. Otherwise, how would she know what we were planning so quickly?”
Tyler was frustrated. It felt like they’d been outplayed.
“Regina is really cunning. No wonder she managed to stay hidden behind the Nygards for so long and even plant Gianna right under their noses.”
This time, Amelia got outsmarted by her.
The plan was to make Emery suspicious, lead her step by step to Regina, and show her Raymond’s true colors.
Then, slowly, she’d start doubting Gianna until her identity as his illegitimate daughter came out.
But it was over before it even started. Regina saw right through it.
Not only did she figure it out-she used it to her advantage and got her daughter a reward.
It was obvious why Gianna and Miguel showed up all of a sudden. Regina and Raymond must have called them over during their secret meet-up.
“I didn’t know Regina had been living in that house for a while without being the owner.”
Sometimes Amelia found it strange. Her scumbag dad always acted like he was totally in love with Regina and was completely under her control.
But when she thought about certain details, she realized things weren’t as simple as they seemed.
“You think there’s something going on behind the scenes?” Tyler asked.
“Wouldn’t be surprised. There’s plenty about those two that doesn’t add up.”
Maybe it’s all an act, or maybe they’re each using the other.
“Keep an eye on them and let me know what you find. We need to figure out who they planted on our side.”
