Gianna stepped inside the jewelry store. Her voice trembled as she forced a smile. “Vincent, what a coincidence.”
Vincent’s brows pulled tight. He turned and saw Gianna standing a few steps away. “Gianna, what are you doing here?”
Gianna’s
eyes filled red in an instant. “Vincent, are you saying I don’t belong here?”
The woman beside him turned with poise. Her face was dazzling, her beauty sharp and impossible to ignore. She looked at Gianna, then shifted her gaze back to Vincent. “Vincent, who is she?”
Vincent opened his mouth to answer. “She’s my-”
“I’m his fiancée!” Gianna cut in, her voice shaking with rage and panic.
The woman’s brow lifted. A mocking smile curved her lips. “Oh? So you already have a fiancée? Yet you just said you wanted to buy me this necklace.”
Vincent’s face turned black as stone. “Gianna, stop talking nonsense!”
Then he faced the woman. “Ms. Oliviera, this is Gianna, second daughter of the Nygards. Our families have known each other for years.”

Gianna stood frozen, her tears brimming. “Vincent, why are you treating me like this? What did

Vincent pressed his fingers to his temples, his voice tired. “Gianna, let’s talk somewhere private.”
Belinda saw the tension and slipped away quietly.
Vincent led Gianna up to the café on the mall’s top floor.
The moment they sat down, Gianna blurted out, “Vincent, who is that woman? What is she to you?”
“She’s just a business partner,” Vincent replied flatly.
“Gianna, there are things between us we need to clear up.”
Gianna’s chest tightened. Dread poured into her stomach. “What things?”
Vincent looked her straight in the eye. “Gianna, there was never an engagement. That was only in your head. I’ve always seen you as a younger sister. The one I’m engaged to is Amelia. You need to understand that.”
Gianna’s voice shot up, sharp and shrill. “Why? Is it because Amelia owns shares? Is that why you’re marrying her?” Several customers turned their heads at the sound.
