When Two Winters Met (Henrietta and Yosef) novel Chapter 26

Jolie frowned as Pamela shot her a glare.

“Go have your chat,” Pamela said to them. “But make it quick. He's got a lot to do today, it being his engagement party.”

Artina rolled her eyes, making no effort to hide her disdain for Pamela.

Pamela's face darkened with anger, and she pulled Jolie away. That Artina had looked down on their family from the very beginning. Pamela had never liked her; if Artina wasn't a rich young lady, she would have thrown her out long ago. And she was still acting the same way now. It was infuriating! Compared to her, Henrietta seemed so much better now.

“What do you think you're doing?” Matteo demanded after Artina dragged him to the rooftop. He knew she didn't actually want to talk about a scene.

“There are no cameras up here,” Artina cooed, wrapping herself around him. “Just a little storage room.”

As she spoke, she lifted a leg and rubbed it against his.

“You!” Matteo was furious. “Are you insane? The engagement party starts in half an hour. What do you want, Artina? Wasn't last night enough for you? Why do you have to pick right now?”

Artina didn't understand why Matteo was so angry. She had been searching for a camera-free spot since she arrived and then went looking for him, so she had no idea that tonight was also the Sargent heiress's birthday party.

“That's exactly why,” Artina said, pushing him into the storage room and closing the door. “We have half an hour. Plenty of time.”

She reached for his belt. “Matteo, do I look beautiful today? More beautiful than Henrietta?”

Matteo was in no mood for this. He grabbed her hand. “Artina, don't push it! You're being disgusting right now!”

Artina froze. “What did you say? You called me disgusting…”
