Who’s the Dog Now? novel Chapter 148

[I’m on my way, stop rushing me! What, are you hoping I get into an accident?]

Naomi was speechless.

She was truly tired of playing games with these spoiled, temperamental boys who had nothing to offer.

She tried to text Zebulon that she could just get her own ride, but a red exclamation mark appeared next to her message.

Zebulon had blocked her.

For the first time, all she could do was let out a helpless laugh. What else could she do?

She didn't know what she had done wrong.

She didn't know what to do.

Standing at the entrance of the mall, she felt as if every passerby knew her plight. Their gazes would linger on her for a moment before they moved on.

Soon, she was left alone, standing there like a statue.

At some point, it had started to rain. The light drizzle quickly turned into a downpour.

Naomi tried to go back inside to take shelter, but she was told the mall was closing for an emergency inspection after an accident.

The sheer unlikeliness of it all made her laugh out loud.

Zebulon wouldn’t let her go, and now even fate was against her.

Naomi tossed the snacks she was holding into a trash can. She gathered the hem of her dress, about to step into the rain, when a pair of headlights cut through the downpour and landed on her.

The next moment, a car door opened, and a tall man strode toward her.

A black suit jacket was draped over her head, and a firm hand grasped her wrist, guiding her toward the car.

The scent from the jacket was so familiar that Naomi didn’t even struggle, allowing the man to lead her into the vehicle.

The car’s heater was on full blast, and Naomi, who had been shivering from the cold, quickly began to warm up.

Carefully, she pushed the jacket away from her face just enough to peek out.
