When the driver found Zebulon, he was kicking the wall at the front of the Gonzalez family's property.
He was still muttering curses.
"Naomi, open the damn door!"
"Don't think I'll forgive you for rejecting our engagement in public just because you're acting like this now. How dare you? I'm asking you, how dare you?"
He was already drunk, and the cold night wind had left him completely dazed, his words jumbled. "Open the door, or I'll—"
His voice suddenly cut off. The driver's heart nearly stopped as he rushed forward to catch him.
Zebulon's body was burning hot, his cheeks flushed red. The driver quickly got him back to the Hughes' house.
He reached for his own phone to call Mrs. Hughes but realized it wasn't on him.
Seeing Zebulon's phone lying nearby, he grabbed it.
He found Mrs. Hughes' number and was about to call when he saw the contact labeled 'Naomi.'
Knowing that the Hughes and Gonzalez families were trying to set the two up, he thought that if Naomi came to take care of the young master tonight, it would surely help their relationship blossom.
With that in mind, his finger slid down and dialed Naomi's number.
Inside the hotel room.
Naomi heard her phone vibrating and struggled to open her eyes, but sleep was a powerful force. She groped for it blindly, her eyes remaining shut.
Her hand eventually pushed the phone off the nightstand and onto the carpeted floor, where it landed without a sound.
The vibrations ceased. Naomi didn't question the silence, her body instinctively sinking back into a deep sleep.
Seeing the call go unanswered, the driver looked a little awkward.
He knew Zebulon's temper; if he found out Naomi didn't answer his call, there would be another scene.
So, he deleted the call log.
Fortunately, Mr. and Mrs. Hughes returned soon after, along with the housekeeper. The driver breathed a sigh of relief, handed Zebulon over to the housekeeper's care, and made his exit.
