Wife You Discarded is a Billionaire's Crush novel Chapter 94

Her words carried an unspoken threat. She was going to see Cedric today, one way or another.

Timothy didn't have the authority to make that call. He hung up and went to ask Cedric, who was in the middle of a board meeting. In the vast conference room, Cedric sat at the head of the table, his handsome face set in a serious expression. After listening to Timothy, his brows drew together in a tight knot.

"Let her come up. It's about time she and I settled a few things."

Ten minutes later, Liliana was in Cedric's office. She didn't know if he was deliberately making her wait or if he was genuinely busy. She stood stiffly in front of his desk, the divorce agreement clutched tightly in her hand.

When Cedric returned from his meeting, he found her standing there, her posture perfect, her dark hair cascading down her back. She turned at the sound of the door opening, and her eyes met his. She pressed her lips together. The black suit he was wearing today was one she had bought for him on their first wedding anniversary. But the tie was not the one she had chosen; it was the one Sylvia had given him for his birthday.

"Here are the divorce papers. Please look them over. If there are no issues, sign them." She placed the agreement on the desk in front of him.

Cedric sat down and loosened his tie, looking as if he were preparing for a serious discussion. But instead of looking at the papers, he opened a drawer and pulled out a single sheet of paper, sliding it across the desk to her.

It was a resignation letter. Sylvia's.

Liliana's heart skipped a beat. Sylvia was resigning? She looked at Cedric, confused. "What is this?"

"Whether she comes back or not is up to you, isn't it?" Liliana's face hardened. To get Sylvia back, she would have to apologize, to admit she had been wrong and that nothing was going on between them. That would be letting Sylvia walk all over her.

"There are many things I can do with a single word," Cedric said, his tone reasonable. "But you're the one who wants a divorce. Why should I step in on your behalf?"

It was as if this was all her own doing. He was doing this on purpose. Liliana could see it clearly. She bit her lip.

"If I go, will you sign the papers?"
