LUCIUS DEVINE

My heart swelled as I saw Lisa do a small run towards me, her phone in her right hand and nothing more. She stopped in front of me with a wide smile on her face.

“Hey daddy” She stopped in front of me, a huge beam on her face.

“Someone seems to be extra happy tonight” I pointed out, reaching a hand to her hair that was tied in a messy bun.

“I guess so” she pouted softly and looked to the bouquet of white tulips in my hands.

“For me?”

“Who else would it be for other than the one woman I love?” I asked and stretched the bouquet to her.

She received it with both hands and smelt it.

“So nice” she smiled and then looked up at me.

“Want to tell me what’s making you so happy?” I asked, taking a step closer to her and closing the space between us.

Her cheeks were rosy red under the soft moonlight.

“Lucius” she whispered my name softly.

“Yes, love?”

“I know I said I was going to give you a response in seven days…” She turned shy, her cheeks turning even redder.

“But I can just give you a response right now too, right?” She asked and I felt my heart swell yet again.

Fuck, was tonight going to be it?

“You can give me a response whenever you have it, Cupcake” I reached a hand to her cheek and bent so I could look more closely into her face.

“Lucius” she called my name again as I made her look into my eyes which she now seemed to be shyly avoiding. 1

With our eyes locked and the air around us growing tense and my heart yearning to hear those words, her lips parted and she said the words.

“I can’t do this. I don’t love you” she said and I felt it all shatter.

She came here with wide smiles to tell me she doesn’t love me? That… That could not be.

A thousand and one thoughts ran through my mind all at the same time but I couldn’t say one word out until she chuckled and leaned in, stealing a kiss from me quickly.

“Joking” she giggled and I stood up straight.

“Fuck” I cursed, running a hand through my hair and letting out a heavy breath from my mouth.

“Don’t joke with things like that, Cupcake.” I groaned and then faced her once more.

“Joke cracked. Now be serious and give me my response. For real, this time”

“I love you, Lucius” she said quickly.

Those words, those beautiful words coming from her.

“Say it again” I demanded.

“Don’t rush the words this time. Say it slowly. One after the other. Let me hear you tell me you love me”

The blush on her cheek reddened even more.

“I love you, Lucius. I love you so much, daddy” she said and a smile left my lips.

“I guess I have always….” I cut her off with a kiss, wrapping an arm around her and pulling her up.

The bouquet of tulips dropped to the floor along with her phone as she dropped her hands on my shoulders and kissed me back.

I sucked on her lips with great want and need. This was our first kiss as a fucking couple! We weren’t just sex partners anymore, we weren’t just a man and woman who got off with each other’s help.
