“It was Ty's!” Celia insisted.
“You two!” Simone said, her voice filled with anguish. “I told you this couldn't continue, but you wouldn't listen! And you even had a child! If you were going to have a baby, you should have protected it. How did this happen?”
Though Simone disapproved of their relationship, the thought of her lost grandchild still pained her.
“Mom, my life is so miserable,” Celia sobbed. “It's not my body that hurts, it's my heart! Ty called last night and told me he's done with me. He told me to go somewhere else and never come back to Seastone City! How could he do this to me, right after I lost our baby?”
“Stop crying,” Simone soothed. “To be honest, what Ty said… maybe it's for the best. You two should have ended things long ago.”
Celia's eyes widened, tears streaming down her face. “Then what am I supposed to do?”
“Don't worry. Even if Ty doesn't see you, he'll still take care of you. And you have me. You'll be fine.”
“I don't want to be fine!” Celia's chest heaved with emotion. “Ty promised he would take care of me forever, and now he's kicking me out! I can't bear it! And we could have had a child, Mom. Did you know? It was Winona who caused me to lose my baby!”
“What did you say?” Simone's expression turned grim. “Winona did this?”
“Yes!”
