Just as she was about to dial, Brinley gently placed a hand on her arm. "Faraday wouldn't be happy if you called the police."

Darleen's hand froze.

"Maybe she didn't mean for it to happen," Brinley added softly. "Let's just drop it."

"You're still defending her?" Darleen snapped, her voice incredulous. "Have you forgotten how she's treated you? Brinley, sometimes you're just too kind for your own good."

Without another word, she shook off Brinley's hand and dialed 911.

Meanwhile, back at the Luwood Mountain estate, Renee was being held on the floor by two of Fairfax's bodyguards. Starla, perched on the sofa, regarded her with an icy calm.

"So, do I hand you over to the police, or are you going to start talking?"

The cold intensity in her eyes was enough to make one's skin crawl. At the mention of the police, Renee began to shake her head frantically.

"No, I can't go to the police! If I go, it's all over for me!"

"Then talk. Who told you to do it?"

It was obvious the poison was meant for her. If only Molly hadn't mentioned Fairfax was sick, she would be the one in the ambulance right now. To think that the man who had once so publicly vowed to cherish her would ultimately place her in a home where her life was in constant danger!

"I… I…" Renee stammered.

"You're not going to talk?" Starla's voice dropped, becoming even more menacing.

"I can't say! I just can't!" Renee burst into tears, her expression a clear sign she was being threatened by someone else.

Starla signaled the guard again and he moved forward.

"Aaaah!"

Another sickening crack, another scream of agony.

Just then, the front door burst open and a team of police officers stormed in, led by a furious Xenia.

When Xenia saw Renee crumpled on the floor, she pointed a trembling finger at Starla. "You… you vicious woman! The Yelchin family has always been good to its staff! What gives you the right to act like some tyrannical queen?"

Starla looked at the police, then back at the apoplectic Xenia, a smirk playing on her lips.

"Arrest her!" Xenia shrieked at the officers. "She's the one who poisoned my brother! She's a cold-hearted snake who tried to kill him just to get a divorce! Take her away and put her in front of a firing squad!"
