A Widow's Poison, A Wife's Rebellion novel Chapter 352

She wanted them all… dead!

“If you’ve, come back to Luwood Mountain with me,” Fairfax said.

“Luwood Mountain? Is it still standing?”

Her question sent a shiver down his spine.

“What do you mean?”

Just then, his phone buzzed violently. It was news from Luwood Mountain—it was on fire.

A vein throbbed on Fairfax’s forehead as he looked at Starla, then barked into the phone, “This happened half an hour ago! Why am I only hearing about it now?”

He listened for a moment. “Fine. I understand.”

Fairfax hung up and stared at Starla. In contrast to his fury, she appeared perfectly serene, almost detached. But he knew her calmness was terrifying. The quieter she was, the greater the devastation to the Yelchin family.

“Are you insane?”

Luwood Mountain was a monument to his feelings for her. Every tree, every plant, he had chosen for her. And now she had burned it to the ground. What was she trying to do?

“Are you planning to burn down the entire Yelchin estate while they’re asleep?” he demanded, echoing Darleen’s earlier fears.

Faced with his rage, Starla simply watched him in silence.

She would actually kill him. This woman was truly ruthless!

“Is this why you won’t divorce me? To make all of our lives a living hell? That’s your real goal, isn’t it?” he asked, his voice rising with each word, his control slipping.

Starla remained silent, her gaze steady and calm.

That look again. In just one day, her serene expression had nearly driven the entire Yelchin family insane.

“What did all our years together mean? Tell me, what did they mean?”

Her decision to divorce had been so absolute. Now, after he'd finally gotten her to agree to stay, she was treating him like this.
