A Widow's Poison, A Wife's Rebellion novel Chapter 354

Now, after she had burned down so many of the family's properties, Fairfax was still willing to give her five billion. He felt he had put enough effort into salvaging their relationship. But she refused to meet him halfway. All she wanted was to cause chaos. Fairfax truly had no other options.

“Five billion,” Starla mused, a laugh in her voice.

Given all the information Yardley had sent her, she highly doubted Fairfax could come up with five billion in cash right now. He had too many other financial fires to put out. To offer her that much now… he must be truly desperate for a divorce.

“Isn’t this what you’ve always wanted?” Fairfax pressed. “Take the five billion, leave the Yelchin family, and get out of… Marina City!”

He never wanted to see her again. If this was the end, he wanted it to be absolute. With five billion, she could live well anywhere in the world. In that moment, it seemed that the best outcome for both of them was a world where the other didn’t exist.

Starla raised an eyebrow. “But what if… I don’t want a divorce now?”

Five billion to buy their eternal peace? To bury her hatred forever? Impossible!

“Then tell me, what’s the point of continuing like this? In a single day, you’ve turned their lives upside down!”

“Is it so painful for them?” Starla shot back sharply.

“Isn’t this enough?”

“Enough? How could this possibly be enough?”

It had only been one day. One day, and they were already in so much pain they couldn’t take it anymore. But Starla wasn’t ready to end the game just yet. If Fairfax thought he could end this relationship with a few simple words, he was sorely mistaken.

Fairfax felt like he couldn’t breathe. Their eyes locked, his gaze growing colder as hers grew more defiant.

“You should think carefully,” Fairfax warned. “Divorce now, and you get five billion. If you refuse, then…”

He didn’t finish, but the threat hung heavy in the air.

Starla scoffed. “You should be more concerned with how you’re going to handle your own problems.”

Threatening her? What a joke.
