Starla was lying in bed when Tanya called.

“Wow, I never realized you had this much chaos in you before,” Tanya remarked.

“Can we not talk about 'before’?” Starla replied.

“You’re right. Back then, you had no one backing you up, so you had to endure it. Not anymore.”

Tanya mused that you should never push a woman too far unless you’re absolutely certain she’ll never have the power to fight back. The moment she does, she’ll flip the table, and no one will have an easy time.

That was exactly what Starla was doing now. And with one flip of the table, the entire Yelchin family was in turmoil.

“It’s only the first day, and they can’t take it anymore, really?”

“Fairfax already asked for a divorce,” Starla said.

“Ha! After just one day? Don’t give it to him. Let him stew in his own misery. Let him suffer! He deserves to pay for his past actions.”

“Not just him. The entire Yelchin family needs to pay,” Starla corrected her.

“Damn right they do. And this is just the beginning.” Tanya despised the Yelchins as well. Darleen had been a terror, and though Starla had managed to ignore her, there wasn't much else she could do back then. But now, she was the one flipping the table.

Compared to her mother’s murderer, Brinley was just a minor nuisance.

“Right,” Tanya agreed. “Start with Darleen. Doesn’t she pride herself on being the Mrs. Yelchin? The matriarch of the family, the most respected woman in Marina City? She’s the perfect place to start.”

Whatever Starla chose to do, Tanya supported her completely. She had once been Starla’s biggest advocate for divorcing Fairfax and escaping the Yelchins. Now, she was just as fervent in her support for Starla staying married, using that status as a weapon to repeatedly stab at the heart of the family.

“With all this chaos, do you think Annika and Harley will be coming back soon?”

Harley Yelchin, Fairfax's father, had been abroad for some time, supposedly on business, though no one really knew for sure. Now that Tanya mentioned him, Starla realized she hadn't heard any news about him in a long while.
