"Mrs. Yelchin, whatever you have to say, our madam is already aware," Maggie said flatly. "And she says: none of it is important!"

"What?" Darleen stared in disbelief.

Not important? Her son was involved with a married woman, and she didn't think that was important? She had always heard the Farley elders were staunchly traditional. How could this be their reaction?

"There are things Mrs. Farley doesn't understand. I must tell her in person," Darleen pleaded, her voice tight with desperation.

"Our madam says she doesn't want to hear anything, nor does she want to know anything," Maggie replied, her voice leaving no room for argument.

"But by the time she finds out, it might be too late!"

"You needn't trouble yourself over that, Mrs. Yelchin."

With that, Maggie turned to leave, giving a brief instruction to the security guard, likely telling him not to announce Darleen again.

This was the second time she'd come here, and both times the Farleys had refused to even see her! Grinding her teeth in fury, Darleen turned to leave.
