Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 36

How had he never noticed what a liar Janina was?

Though she had braced herself, a chill still ran through Janina when she saw that Julius wouldn't even glance at the video she sent. Even with the truth right in front of him, he would remain willfully blind.

The person she used to be—the one who revolved around him, who saw him as her entire world—was a complete fool.

Janina looked up at the menacing man before her and let out a cold laugh. "You say I cut her hand and pushed her down the stairs. Where's your proof?"

Since he refused to believe her, there was no point in arguing. The burden of proof was on the accuser. Yvonne had dared to frame her precisely because she knew there were no security cameras in the villa.

Seeing Janina refuse to admit guilt, Yvonne began to sob weakly, her tear-filled eyes fixed on Janina.

"Miss Holt, whatever grudge you have, you can take it out on me. But my baby was innocent! I admit, I came to you. I wanted to apologize for Viola wrongly accusing you of taking the ring. I can admit my mistakes. Why can't you admit yours?"

With that, Yvonne dissolved into tears again.

"Don't cry, Yvonne," Julius said, turning to comfort her. "The doctor said you shouldn't cry during your recovery. It's bad for your eyes."

When he looked back at Janina, his face was like stone, his tone glacial. "Yvonne is a kind person. She never lies. If she says you pushed her, then you pushed her. But you, Janina, you're nothing but a compulsive liar. Do you really think you can get away with this?"

"She never lies." The words echoed in the room. In his eyes, Yvonne could do no wrong.

Janina's eyes turned red with fury. She glared at Julius, her voice rising. "Julius, I'm telling you to look at the evidence! Are you blind?"

"I saw you. My own eyes are the evidence," Julius shot back, his gaze so cold it could have killed.

Last night, the moment he opened his door, he had seen Janina and Yvonne grappling with each other. A second later, Yvonne was tumbling down the stairs. There was no question about it. Janina had pushed her.
