Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 67

After listening to the doctor, both Janina and Maggie grew tense. No matter what, her health was the most important thing.

"So what… what do I do now?"

This was a time to trust the experts. Whatever the doctor said, she would do.

The doctor frowned. "I'll prescribe you some medication. Come back for a follow-up in a week. If your levels have gone up, we'll re-evaluate your condition and schedule the procedure then."

"Okay. Thank you, doctor."

A week wasn't too long. She could wait.

She'd looked it up online before coming to the hospital. An abortion in the first trimester usually isn't too complicated.

As the two of them left the office and prepared to head home, Janina caught a glimpse of a familiar figure out of the corner of her eye.

She immediately grabbed Maggie's arm and pulled her behind a large pillar in the hallway.

Seeing her nervous expression as she peeked out, Maggie asked, "What's wrong?"

Janina pointed to a figure up ahead. "Yvonne. The woman in the white coat."

"Where? Let me see." Maggie had only ever seen Yvonne in pictures. She followed Janina's finger and saw a woman in a short white coat with long, flowing hair. She had the kind of innocent but alluring face that men found irresistible. No wonder Julius couldn't control himself.

"She's not bad-looking, I'll give her that," Maggie commented fairly.

Next to Yvonne was a middle-aged woman who bore a slight resemblance to her, likely her mother.

Janina let out a breath she hadn't realized she was holding. It was a close call. If they had run into each other head-on and Yvonne had seen her in the obstetrics department, who knows what kind of trouble she would have stirred up.

Janina had learned her lesson when it came to Yvonne's schemes.

She was a total backstabber.

"What's she doing in the OB-GYN department?" Maggie asked, her curiosity piqued.
