If Grace hadn't been so blind as to swap her and Janina's fates all those years ago, she would never have suffered for over two decades.

"Grace and Janina," she thought, "I will make you both pay!"

"Honey, let's go downstairs. Your two brothers are waiting to have dinner with you," Genevieve said.

Meanwhile, in the living room, Cedric was sitting face-to-face with Julius.

Julius had come looking for Janina. After searching for days without a trace, he knew she wouldn't have gone to the Gables, given their strained relationship.

He was here simply to fish for information.

The Gable family was still unaware that Janina and Julius had divorced.

Cedric brewed some tea, pouring a cup and sliding it across the table to Julius.

Although this son-in-law had only visited them once and clearly held them in low regard, Cedric maintained a warm and welcoming facade.

After Janina had married Julius, she had repeatedly refused to leverage the Aurelius family's influence to help the Gables. This had infuriated Cedric so much that he had once slapped her, and it left him with no fondness for his son-in-law.

But the Aurelius family was not one he could afford to offend. Cedric had no idea why Julius had shown up so suddenly.

Could it be about the switched-at-birth situation? he wondered.

But that was a private family matter. Besides, Janina wasn't his biological daughter anyway, so sending her back to the Holt family was perfectly reasonable. Julius wouldn't cause trouble for the Gables over something like that, would he?

As Cedric pondered this, Julius, sitting on the sofa opposite him, finally spoke. "Where is Janina?"

Cedric was taken aback. Hadn't Janina told Julius she had returned to the Holt family?

Wasn't he her husband?
