After hearing Natalie lay it all out, Jordan started to question Isabella too.
“Have someone look into her, thoroughly,” Natalie said. “If this really is some scheme, if she’s an imposter, we’ll gather the evidence, call her out, and send her straight to jail. If someone’s been plotting this for years, the real Isabella is probably long gone.”
Jordan would have investigated even if Natalie hadn’t brought it up. There was no way he’d let a fake Isabella mess with the Lane family, or the Adams family either.
“We should let Ethan know what’s going on,” Natalie added. “He’s her husband now. It’ll be way easier for him to dig up proof than it would be for us.”
Jordan nodded.
“Ethan hates being played more than anything,” Natalie went on, her voice icier now. “Once he finds out Isabella’s been scheming, trying to get his money, she’s done for. She won’t have anywhere left to hide.”
“I’ll call Ethan and fill him in,” Jordan said, his tone serious.
“Give it an hour,” Natalie suggested. “By then, they’ll be home. They’ll have had their argument, and Ethan will still be pissed off. If you tell him while he’s angry, it’ll only make him resent her more.”
