After I Stopped Loving Him novel Chapter 226

As soon as they were out of Jennifer’s line of sight, Isabella slipped out of Ethan’s grasp.

Ethan shot her a look. “What, you don’t want me touching you now?”

She didn’t even turn around. “Ethan, you’re betraying Natalie.” And with that, she disappeared into her room.

Ethan watched the door close behind her and let out a quiet sigh. “It’s just an act,” he muttered to himself.

He turned away and headed to his own room to get changed.

A little while later, they all gathered in the dining room for breakfast. Jennifer sat at the head of the table, eyeing them both.

“Ethan, Isabella, you’ve been married for a while now. It’s about time you started thinking about having a baby,” she said, her tone leaving no room for argument.

She looked at Ethan. “You’re thirty. Don’t wait another two years. You can hire a nanny to help with the baby, it won’t get in the way of your romance or your time together.”

Isabella glanced at Ethan, then focused on her breakfast. This wasn’t her fight to pick.

Ethan didn’t even look up from his plate. “Mom, can we not talk about this at the table? Kind of kills the appetite, you know?” His voice was calm, almost bored. “If you’re in such a hurry, go bug Frank about getting married. Maybe he’ll surprise you. I’m not planning for kids anytime soon. We’ll talk about it in two years, maybe. Thirty is still young for a guy. No rush.”

Jennifer shook her head. “You might not be in a hurry, but I am. Your brother doesn’t want to get married. I can’t force him. Lawrence and Frank are both single, and whenever I ask Lawrence to go on a date, he just blames it on his older cousins. What am I supposed to do?”

Then she sighed. “Sophia only wants to date Dylan Main—and I’m not having that. He’s too old, and honestly, he changes girlfriends faster than he changes his clothes.”
