Laura popped open the lid of a thermos and slid it over to Isabella. “Isabella, the show just went live, so there aren’t that many people subscribing yet. Let’s eat something and relax. Trust me, we put our best into this. It’s not going to let us down.”
To keep their numbers real, they’d both told Linda and Barbara not to use their influence to boost the stats. No fake accounts, no padding the numbers. As Isabella always said, she wanted to make money off the audience, not lose her own.
“I’m watching it right now,” Isabella replied, eyes glued to her phone. “Let’s see what needs fixing for next time.” She cradled the thermos in her hands and took a bite of the breakfast porridge Laura had made early that morning. It was warm and comforting.
“The actors are so natural. It’s like they’re living their roles,” Isabella said, watching closely. Even the extras were doing a great job.
Laura was eating and watching too. “Yeah, they’re all professionally trained. Their acting is solid. And since they’re all new faces, I have a feeling the leads are going to blow up soon.”
These actors were signed with Adams Entertainment, but because they were newcomers, the company hadn’t given them any big opportunities. They were just another bunch of good-looking kids in a lineup full of them. Here, in Isabella’s project, they finally had a chance to shine.
If Isabella hadn’t asked Frank to lend her the actors, who knows how long they would have waited for a real part. Sure, the pay for short-form series wasn’t great, but it beat sitting around, waiting for something to happen. Isabella had promised them a bonus if the show took off. If they got popular here, maybe the company would finally notice them and offer bigger roles in dramas or movies.
