Sophia could hardly wait for Ethan and Isabella to break up.
She called Natalie, her voice bubbling with excitement. “Natalie, Ethan still loves you. He always has. Marrying Isabella was just a move to keep you close, nothing more.”
“I knew it. There’s no way Ethan would actually choose Isabella. It’s always been about you. But now he’s refusing to divorce her, and honestly, I’m worried he might actually start liking her.”
“He even said he’s going to try to let go of his feelings for you.”
“Natalie, Ethan treats you so well, all because he’s in love with you. If he really moves on, he’ll stop caring. He’ll turn all that attention to Isabella.”
“And look, even though you’re married to Jordan now, I’m still on your side. I can’t stand Isabella. Aside from her looks and her body, what does she really have over you?”
“She’ll never be good enough for Ethan. She’s not even fit to tie his shoes.”
Natalie sat there, gripping her phone, her anger simmering. She had noticed Ethan wasn’t as attentive as before. Lately, he seemed to be treating Isabella better.
Knowing Ethan only married Isabella for her was a huge ego boost. Even after getting married herself, she still held a place in his heart. But now Ethan was talking about letting go, and he wouldn’t divorce Isabella.
Ethan should only care about her. Why should Isabella get any of his affection?
So what if Isabella was prettier? If Natalie wanted, she could ruin that face in an instant. So what if Isabella had a better figure? That just made her an easier target. Natalie could have her kidnapped and humiliated, and after that, Isabella would never recover.
Ethan would be disgusted by her. He’d want a divorce for sure. Then he’d go back to being her loyal childhood friend.
On the surface, though, Natalie kept her cool. “Sophia, if Ethan doesn’t want a divorce, then he should learn to move on. We’re just friends now. And you need to stop going after Isabella. She’s your sister-in-law.”
