Isabella didn’t head back to the big house she shared with Ethan. Instead, she told the driver to take her to the smaller villa under her own name.

“Isabella, if you don’t go home, Ethan’s going to be upset,” the driver said quietly, though he still did as she asked.

“Let him be upset. Serves him right,” Isabella replied without looking back.

She stepped out, unlocked the gate, and slipped inside. Once she was through, she locked it behind her and waved the driver off, not caring what he thought. The lights in the house came on, the front door closed, and that was that. The driver let out a long sigh and drove away.

He hadn’t gotten far when Ethan called.

“Did Isabella go home?” Ethan asked.

“She went home, but not your home. She’s at her own villa,” the driver answered.

Ethan’s voice was cold. “We’re married. My home is hers, hers is mine. There’s no difference.”

“Sorry, that was my mistake,” the driver apologized quickly.

Ethan just wanted to know where she was. When he realized Isabella wasn’t going back to the house they shared, he told the driver to take him to her place. But after they got back to the city, Ethan changed his mind.

He had the driver stop at the city’s biggest jewelry store. He bought Isabella several sets of jewelry, then picked up some high-end skincare, designer handbags, and brand-name clothes. Only once his arms were full of shopping bags did he tell the driver to head to Isabella’s villa.
