Aiden gazed at Angelina, a smile playing on his lips.

"What's so amusing?" Angelina inquired, narrowing her eyes.

Aiden shook his head and replied, "It's nothing, just..."

"Just what? What's the matter with you?" Angelina asked curiously. "Don't you want to go back home and stay at the medical center forever?"

"No, it's just that I can't help but feel a little sentimental. You know how men are! They must have money and status," Aiden casually remarked.

Upon hearing this, Angelina quickly interjected, "You've misunderstood, Aiden. I didn't ask you to come back because I think you are rich. I..."

"I understand, but having status and money does make things easier, right?" Aiden said with a smile.

"That's true," Angelina nodded.

Aiden's mindset had slowly begun to change. Three years ago, his non-confrontational nature had led to him being framed and bullied. Now, he no longer wanted to live in such silence.

In truth, what he said was accurate. Money and status weren't everything, but they were necessary. Even a strong bond couldn't shield a poor couple from the numerous difficulties they would face. It was not about advocating materialism; it was simply a fact.

When Aiden and Angelina returned to the medical center, they greeted Reece before making their way to Gray Residence.

At Gray Residence, Ray was sitting on the couch in the living room, engaging in conversation with Linda. Harvey, on the other hand, sat beside them with a gloomy expression.

He never expected Linda to invite Ray to their house without Angelina's permission.

"Ray, look at you! I initially invited you to come over for dinner. Why did you bring so many gifts?" Linda said with a smile. Her heart was filled with joy.

Ray replied, "It's only proper to bring gifts when visiting elders."

"Ray, your relationship with Mr. Kelly from Avirax Medicare is so strong. He actually canceled the contract with Gray Enterprise because of Angelina," Linda exclaimed. Her tone was filled with flattery.

However, Ray felt a bit perplexed. He wondered who the influential person was who caused Avirax Medicare to terminate the contract with Gray Enterprise because of Angelina.

Nevertheless, since things had already turned out this way, and he had already told Angelina that he sought assistance, he could only admit it now.

However, he felt a twinge of worry. He hoped that nothing unfortunate would occur.

Meanwhile, Angelina and Aiden had already arrived at the door. When Angelina spotted Ray sitting in the living room, she was taken aback.

Furrowing her brows, she questioned, "Ray, why are you here?"

Unaware of Angelina's change in attitude toward him, Ray quickly stood up and replied, "Auntie Linda asked me to come over for dinner."

"Come over for dinner?" Angelina frowned upon hearing his words. Then, she turned to look at Linda.

"Yes... yes!" Ray stumbled over his words as he was intimidated by Aiden's gaze.

Meanwhile, Harvey had noticed that something was amiss. He quickly interjected, "Aiden, come inside. Since Ray is here too, let's clarify things."

Nevertheless, Aiden remained motionless. He stared coldly at Ray. "I'm asking you. Did you help with the matter concerning Avirax Medicare?"

"Yes, I asked a friend for help," Ray, now defiant, said. He didn't believe Angelina would trust a worthless person like Aiden over him.

"Ray, that's enough. From the beginning, you didn't contribute anything. Aiden did everything," Angelina said angrily.

Ray glanced at Angelina and pretended to be hurt. "Angelina, how can you say that? You'd rather believe a worthless person than me? How could he know anyone? How could he possibly know Mr. Kelly from Avirax Medicare?"

"Yeah. Angelina, wasn't it Ray who helped from the beginning? How did it become Aiden?" Linda also asked. It seemed that she believed Ray.

Although Aiden had recently met many people, she hadn't witnessed his ability to seek help from others. As for the matter of the jade store, it was purely coincidental.

However, Angelina looked at Linda with anger on her face as she said, "That's enough, Mom. Can you stop causing trouble? Besides, don't interfere in my affairs anymore."
