Aiden Finnegan the Alchemist in Delcord novel Chapter 71

Upon hearing Angelina's words, Aiden was taken aback. Could it be that Angelina was dreaming about me? Does she really care about me?

Even though it was just a dream, Aiden felt a warmth inside, knowing that Angelina's feelings towards him were not as cold as they seemed on the surface.

However, he soon chuckled self-deprecatingly and muttered to himself, "Perhaps it was just a dream! It seems like she's been under a lot of pressure lately!"

Since she was sleeping soundly, Aiden didn't want to disturb her. He quietly sat in the passenger seat, watching her instead. A sense of melancholy washed over him as he looked at the sleeping woman in front of him. He did have feelings for her, or else he wouldn't have stayed with the Grays for three years. Even though it had been old Mr. Gray's last wish, Aiden couldn't have brought himself to be so miserable, despite the old man's kindness.

In fact, Aiden couldn't understand why old Mr. Gray had trusted him so much at times. Old Mr. Gray had brought him back to the Gray family home and arranged his marriage to his beloved granddaughter, Angelina. Aiden had been stunned when he first saw her, as her beauty and understanding smile had immediately captivated him. Angelina used to smile back then, but she had never smiled at him again since finding out about their marriage.

When he was framed by a villain and escaped to Keyland, it was old Mr. Gray who saved him! Then, Aiden married into the Gray Family. Moreover, old Mr. Gray had treated him well when he was alive.

Thinking of this, Aiden murmured to himself, "Old Mr. Gray, what exactly were you up to?"

Aiden silenced his phone and stayed in the car with Angelina.

Time passed, and the sun began to rise, so the car was no longer as cold. Angelina unconsciously moved and accidentally knocked off his coat. He had intended to pick it up and cover her again, but when he lowered his head, his attention was captivated by the scene in front of him, and his eyes became fixated.

Due to her movement, Angelina had leaned her head against the center console, aligning the collar of her shirt perfectly with Aiden's gaze as he bent over. She was wearing a white collared shirt today, with only the second button of the collar fastened. From his viewpoint, he could see the magnificent view; even her black bra was clearly visible!

He couldn't help but swallow, his eyes fixed on her.

He quickly stood up, his heart racing as he reminded himself not to look as if she hadn't accepted him yet, even though they were husband and wife. However, his gaze couldn't help but drift towards her, despite his warnings. With such a stunning appearance and a figure that could make any man's heart skip a beat, how could he not be moved?

Aiden hurriedly covered Angelina with his coat to hide the view and leaned back on the passenger seat with a sigh of relief. It was really frustrating to be able to see but not touch!

At that moment, a stray beam of sunlight shone into Angelina's eyes. She slowly opened them, and when she saw the coat on her body, she sat up abruptly.

When she turned around, she saw Aiden sitting in the passenger seat and murmured, "Aiden, please don't leave the Grays! Don't go to Gina's house!"

"What did you say?" He was startled by her words.

She looked around and then glanced at the coat covering her, which warmed her heart.

"You can really sleep, huh?" he asked casually.

Angelina tidied her hair and took this opportunity to clear her mind. She remembered that she had come earlier to find Aiden, but the medical center was closed, so she had fallen asleep in the car while waiting for him. She must have been deep in her dreams and couldn't help but cry out when she saw him.

"What time is it?" she asked.

He glanced at his phone. "It's one o'clock!"

"When I got home, my mom said it was all thanks to you, or she would be lying in the hospital too!" she continued.

"Hmph!" Aiden let out a disdainful laugh and shook his head. "Do you think I would believe that? Linda, being grateful to me?"

She furrowed her brows. It was the first time she heard him call her mother by her name, something he wouldn't have dared to do before. Could this mean that he had made up his mind to leave her family?

"Well, my mom didn't say that!" Angelina conceded. "But still, thank you!"

"There's no need for this. I've been relying on the Grays all these years. It's only right to do these things!" he replied calmly.

She felt a pang of sadness upon hearing this. The more distant he acted, the more Angelina could understand his frustration, and she asked softly, "Aiden, can I apologize on behalf of my mom?"

He turned around with a surprised expression and asked in confusion, "Apologize? Is there something wrong with you?"

She had not only refrained from apologizing all those years, but also from having a proper conversation with him, leaving him completely bewildered by her actions!
