Alpha Damon (Sienna) novel Chapter 152

Sienna:

Coming back felt different this time.

I didn’t know how to explain it, but it felt completely different. I felt like I belonged, like I was living in something that I did not know or even consider living in. I felt like I was on cloud nine. I was floating and the only thing that was holding me down was the man standing by my side, my mate.

There was no tension coiled in my shoulders, no uncertainty in my steps. I wasn’t hiding behind anyone or wondering where I belonged. For the first time, I walked through the gates of the Lockwood estate with my head high, Damon’s mark on my neck, his scent covering mine, and our fingers intertwined.

I was no longer a question mark in their world.

I was no longer that member who made everyone wonder how she was suddenly in his life. I was no longer that woman who was simply the mother of his child, an Omega, who’s been raised as an orphan within the pack.

I was his Luna.

I was his woman.

The two of us had marked one another as soul mates, as lovers, as partners.

The moment we stepped into the courtyard, the air shifted. Wolves stopped what they were doing. Heads turned. Whispers started, but they weren’t filled with disdain or doubt. They were not of hate or anger. For the first time, I did not even see glares at me. I did not see eyes that were filled with rage.

They were filled with awe.

With acceptance.

With respect.

This had been the case since he had chosen to announce me as his, you know. But since then the two of us have gone to the cottage. I never really got the chance to mingle or roam around to the pack. And now that I was, I couldn’t help the smile that formed on my lips.

Someone gasped softly. “She’s marked…”

And then it spread like wildfire.

My cheeks reddened as I found myself being the center of attention. Damon, sensing my moment of silence, my momentum hesitation, squeezed my hand gently assuring me that he was by my side.

Betas nodded, guards straightened their postures, maids offered small smiles as they passed. I saw Ethan glance over from the far end of the yard with a smirk on his face that said finally. Carter bowed his head to me for the first time, not out of obligation, but out of respect for what I now represented.

I felt Damon squeeze my hand gently.

“You’re home,” he murmured into my ear. “The two of us are home together by one another side.”

Before I could respond, I saw her, standing by the steps leading to the pack house.

Luna Evelyn. Her arms were crossed over her chest as she took slow steps towards us before she stood, not moving, simply watching.

She pulled back slightly and touched my cheek. “You’re stronger than I ever gave you credit for. And you’ll be even stronger now. Just don’t forget that being Luna doesn’t mean being invincible. It means knowing when to ask for help.”

“I’ll remember,” I whispered. “And I promise you that I’m going to do my best to make you all proud. I’m going to do my best to maintain everything as it is and try to make it better even.”

“I don’t doubt you. I know that you’re going to do your best.” She said, making my eyes soften.

“I’ll make you proud, all of you.” I whispered, more to myself than to her. She heard me though, giving me a gentle smile before she took a step back.

“Now go see your daughter. She’s been waiting.” She said, looking me in the eye. “Don’t worry, she was spoiled rotten, but I believe that she’s going to miss you. There is nothing more intimate than the relationship of a mother and her children…”

I turned to Damon, and he didn’t say a word. He nodded at his mother, giving her a small smile. She nodded back, letting him know that she approved of this, sharing a silent message with him. One that I could easily read. At least I wanted to believe that I did. ‘I am proud of you.’

He took my hand again. He squeezed it gently before bringing it to his lips, gently kissing my knuckle.

And with that, we walked inside.

Together. As Alpha and Luna. As partners. As a family.
