Alpha Damon (Sienna) novel Chapter 329

Delilah’s lips curved upward faintly. Lysandra straightened. Even Carter’s hollow expression hardened into something closer to resolve.

“Does that mean that I’m going to stop? Does it mean that I’m going to stand away? No, it does not. It means that I’m going to stand in her face until the very end of this. Because that woman out there, though my mother is not my mother. This takes courage. Without courage, I’m not going to be able to maintain or hold alone. Not without you, not without your help, not without your stance.” I said softly. “And that is why we’re going to fight. But you’re not forced to do so. You’re doing it for your family, you’re doing it for your packs, you’re doing it for your homes, for those that you lost as well. You’re doing it for those that we all lost.”

Damon stepped up beside me, his voice a low growl. “Anyone who doubts where they stand, leave now. But know this, if you stay, you stay until the end. I will hold no grudges on you, and I will hold the line going back if you choose to, but at least you would have the courage and the strength to say that you do not want to be part of it. I do not like it when someone steps back halfway because of fear, because right now what we are going to do, it’s going to demand courage, not fear and not running away. Those two options are not going to be an option.”

No one moved.

Good.

A deep rumble shook the earth beneath us. Dust fell from the beams overhead. Outside, a howl, not wolf, not human, split the night air like a blade.

I swallowed hard.

She was here.

And she brought hell with her.

Damon turned to me, his hand brushing mine briefly before he strode to the door. “It’s time. Because right now, until the very end, we’re not going to stop.”

I followed him outside, flanked by the others. The moment the doors swung open, the mist hit us like ice water. It had thickened into something alive now, curling and snapping like it had teeth.

Figures moved in the fog, not wolves. Not quite anything.

My stomach churned as I watched one step into the light.

It was… wrong.

Twisted beyond recognition, its body hunched and broken, its eyes black pits of nothing.
