Ella gasped as Sebastian’s image came into clear view.
“You?” You’re the mastermind behind all this?” Ella glared at him angrily
Sebastian chuckled darkly. “Easy werewolf, I know you want to tear me apart right now but unfortunately…” he clicked his tongue, his smirk deepening “you’re surrounded by your weakness, you can’t shift and even my dear brother won’t be here to save you.”
Ella knew he was right but unlike before when she initially lost Lila, she wasn’t scared. Her jaw tightened, eyes burning with pure hatred as she spat directly onto his face.
“Fuck you”
Silence.
Drake’s eyes almost popped out from its socket. How could she be bold? Did she just… spit on Lord Sebastian?
Sebastian was momentarily stunned, he didn’t expect that. He scoffed as he slowly wiped off his face.
“Feisty huh? I like that” he crouched down and grabbed her chin. “It just makes me anticipate having more of your blood running through my veins” he roughly let go of her chin, causing her head to tilt.
Ella was confused. What did he mean by more of her blood? Running through his veins?
Sebastian turned sharply to Drake, patting his shoulder. “Nice job, hope you weren’t followed?”
“No my lord, everything went as you planned”
“Good” Sebastian chuckled, staring darkly into space. “I would love to see your next move dear brother”
“Stealing your brother’s mate? You are a coward” Ella spat.
A dark glint appeared in Sebastian’s eyes but it quickly varnished, replaced by a smirk. His eyes darkened as he turned to her. “And he’s not a coward for stealing my birthright?”
“Your birthright? Ella’s eyes narrowed. “You mean all of this is because you want to be made the leader?” Ella asked.
Anger flickered in Sebastian’s eyes. “I don’t want it, I’m supposed to be the leader not him.”
Ella took a deep breath. “I understand your anger Sebastian, you feel cheated but Valen hasn’t been a bad leader. Age alone doesn’t determine a leader and besides Valen is your brother, the least you could do is support him and not be against him.”
Sebastian stared at Ella like she fell from the moon. The more she spoke the more angry he became, it’s like she was intentionally trying to anger him. Well he doesn’t blame her for supporting Valen, after all she’s his mate.
A sinister smirk tugged at the corner of his lips. She would also be the one to help him destroy Valen. What a fate.
Ella noticed his sinister look, an unusual feeling crept in her chest.
“Don’t think you can use me to get to Valen, Sebastian. You have been banished and he knows you’re dangerous. You’re only creating more problems for yourself. I think you should let me go and I won’t even mention your name to Valen” Ella said, trying to reason with him.
Sebastian threw his head back and laughed. “Oh Ella, I’m scared,” he said, his tone low and mocking.
His mocking tone grated on Ella’s skin as she grinds her teeth. What’s this guy up to?
“You know I could kill you right here and now and even Valen won’t be able to find your body. I’m no longer in Devil’s city, where I’m bound by Valen’s law of no drinking of human blood and I know your blood would taste sweeter than anyone I have drank since my life time” Sebastian whispered in a low warning tone, licking his tongue and bringing out his fangs.
Ella swallowed, cold sweat forming at her forehead and between her brow. She blinked as she watched his fangs get closer to her neck, her wrists aching against the silver chains.
“Wait!” She screamed out, shutting her eyes and using her hands to create a distance between them. The sound of the chains clanking.
“What’s Ella doing here?” Kevin asked, perplexed. His eyes full of questions as he looked at Sebastian and Sandra.
Sandra’s jaw clenched, her fist tightening by her side. As expected, he still wanted Ella back, that’s why she had been trying to make sure they don’t meet. What does this bitch have? Why wouldn’t she just die?
“You know her?” Sebastian asked, eying Kevin.
“Of course, she’s…she was my…”
“She was from his pack” Sandra shut in, cutting away whatever Kevin wanted to say. She can’t have him telling Sebastian Ella was his ex-fiance. It would complicate things.
Sebastian nodded. That’s true, what was he thinking? Ella is Sandra’s sister which meant they were from the same pack.
“But… how did she become a healer of the north and not her pack?” Sebastian asked, sensing something was fishy.
Sandra didn’t wait for Kevin to speak before she interrupted again. “She left. Her mate rejected her in front of the pack members and she couldn’t face the humiliation so she ran away.”
“Her mate?” Sebastian raised his brow as he eyed Kevin suspiciously.
Sandra waved her hand dismissively. “No, her mate was Alpha Derek❞
Ella placed her hands on her jaw, amused as she watched them discuss her as if she wasn’t there.
“Wait, is she the tool you were talking about?” Alpha Kevin asked as his eyes darted again to Ella. “She’s Valen’s mate? Why? I mean, how’s that even possible?”
