Betrayed I Upgraded to His Billionaire Brother novel Chapter 126

Chapter 126

I hesitated for a moment before speaking up. “Could you… drop me off at my place first? I have to sign for a delivery.”

Gavin’s lips curled into a cold, mocking smile. “Sign for Zane?”

“He’s not the delivery,” I snapped, my voice clipped. The truth was, I didn’t want Zane anywhere near my home—the package itself didn’t matter one bit.

Gavin glanced at me sharply but didn’t press further. Instead, he gave a frosty order to his bodyguard, “Take the little princess home first. Let her enjoy her little romantic moment.”

I said nothing in response, choosing silence over correction. What was the point? Gavin was completely convinced I was just another lovesick fool. Unless I slammed those divorce papers in his face, any explanation I gave would sound like a weak excuse.

The bitter irony was that I couldn’t even get hold of those papers myself.

I could almost feel his disdain, as if my pathetic devotion was some kind of joke to him. He leaned back in his seat, the air around him thick with barely contained anger.

As soon as the car stopped downstairs, I practically jumped out, desperate for a breath of air that didn’t feel like it was choking me.

From Gavin’s perspective:

He watched her hurry figure disappear, his face darkening with a storm of emotions.

The bodyguard, clearly exasperated, rubbed his temples and muttered, “Sir, when do you think Elara will wake up? That day at the hotel, Zane defended that mistress like she was the victim.”

“Why can’t Miss just let it go? She runs off like that just from a single call from him.”

“Why didn’t you ask her just now?” Gavin’s frown deepened as he looked at the bodyguard through the rearview mirror, his voice cold as ice. “Why would I ask? I’m not a mind reader.”

It was obvious Gavin was furious.

The bodyguard looked uncertain, lowering his voice. “I just… didn’t dare to…” Then, hesitantly, “So are we really just waiting here?”

His boss never waited for anyone.
